Thirteen Martyrs Centennial Plaza

On this day, September 12, 1906, 115 years ago, a monument was inaugurated in Cavite in honor of the thirteen martyrs (trece martires) who were arrested and executed by the Spaniards in 1896 for rebellion.

A monument was erected to honor the thirteen Filipinos who were executed in Cavite on September 11, 1896. Later known as the Thirteen Martyrs of Cavite or the Trece Martires, these Cavitenos were arrested by the Spaniards and charged with rebellion for being members of the Katipunan.

The site is now called Thirteen Martyrs Centennial Plaza.
