Postpone your planned travel to Boracay.

 

The six months  clean up begins today April 26.

 

Among the activities to be undertaken by the government during the six
months period includes the tearing down illegal structures, building more sewerage  infrastructure and widening a spine road.

 

The Department of Tourism (DOT), The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and the Department of the Interior and Local government (DILG) published this guidelines:

Boracay is off limits to tourists
Identified tourists foreign and local will not be allowed into the island and
will be stopped at the Caticlan Jetty airport.

 

ID Is Required For Residents and Workers
Residents, Workers and Resort owners will be allowed entry into the island
subject to the presentation of identification cards with specific residence
address in any of the 3 barangays.

 

All government issued ID’s like drivers license, PRC card or SSS/GSIS ID will
be recognized.

 

Non government ID’s are acceptable as long as it is accompanied by a barangay
certification of residency.

 

Only The Residents Are Allowed To Swim At Designated Beach
Generally, swimming shall not be allowed anywhere in the Boracay Island.
However, residents may be allowed to swim at a designated area near Station 1
from 6am to 5pm.

 

Visitors Are Not Allowed
Visitors of Boracay residents shall not be allowed entry except under
emergency situations with the clearance of the security committee.

 

The Security Committee is composed of representatives from the DILG, PNP
and the local government unit (LGU).

 

The Department of Tourism (DOT) shall facilitate the media accreditation
The media is encouraged to coordinate with the DOT to facilitate
news coverage.

 

Floating Structures Are Not Allowed
No floating structures shall be allowed up to 3 kilometers from the shoreline.

 

Foreign Residents Will Undergo Checks
Foreign residents will have to be revalidated by the Bureau of Immigration.

 

There Will Only Be Two Entry and Exit Points
The entry and exit shall be at Caticlan and Cagban Jetty Port.

 

The government’s prohibition for tourist to travel to Boracay is temporary
until the island is cleaned.

 

The national government’s intention is for the good of Boracay.
