Alfredo Carmelo was the first graduate of the first aviation school in the Philippines. As an acrobatic pilot, he was admired in the Philippines and abroad. In 1957, he was named the most outstanding pilot of the year.
He is also known as the “Dean of Filipino Pilot”. He was the first Filipino to fly a plane solo in the Philippines, over Manila Bay and Cavite in 1920.
Siya ang pinakaunang nagtapos sa kaunaunahang aviation school sa Pilipinas. Bilang acrobatic pilot, hinangaan siya sa Pilipinas at sa ibang bansa. Noong 1957, itinanghal siyang most outstanding pilot of the year.
