On this day, April 13, in 1904, Fernando Lopez was born in Jaro, Iloilo. He comes from the race of Graciano Lopez-Jaena. He served as the second president and secretary of the Department of Agriculture under Elpidio Quirino (1949-1953) and Ferdinand Marcos (1965) until his resignation in 1971. His brother, Eugenio Lopez, is the founder of ABS-CBN.
