Rules:Bringing of currency into or out of the Philippines

Posted here below are the rules on the bringing of currency (local or foreign) into or out of the Philippines.

 

Rules on the bringing of local currency into or out of the Philippines:

If you are bringing Philippine Money into or out of the Philippines in the amount of Php50,000, there is no need to get prior written authorization from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas or BSP.

 

If you are bringing Philippine money into or out of the Philippines in the amount of more than Php50,000, you are required to get prior written authorization from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP).

 

Authorization is issued by the BSP only for
1. Testing/Calibration of money counting/sorting machines
2. For Numismatics (collectors of currency)/educational purposes

 

Rules on the bringing of foreign currency into or out of the Philippines:

 

If you are bringing foreign money into or out of the Philippines in an amount not exceeding Php10,000 US dollars, it is allowed.

 

If you are bringing foreign money into or out of the Philippines in the amount exceeding or more than Php10,000 US dollars, it is allowed but you must declare it using the Bureau of Custom form (BOC form).

 

The Bureau of Customs (BOC) declaration form is available at the BOC desk in the arrival and departure areas of all international airports and seaports in the Philippines.
