Balik Bukid Farm and Kitchen all started with the family’s love for nature and passion for great food. With the use of indigenous materials like bamboo and abaca, the farm kitchen was built. With a little creativity, junk was given a new form and function like chairs made from recycled materials.
With the use of natural farming as a method, chemical-free vegetables, and meat were produced. To make the farm sustainable, the restaurant was built to create a demand for chemical-free produce. A shop was introduced to allow farmers to showcase and sell their
organic products.
A bed and breakfast were opened to give people a taste of living a sustainable lifestyle. Farm tours and training on natural farming were given to educate and raise awareness of the benefit of natural farming.
Today, Balik Bukid’s advocacy to engage people to live a sustainable lifestyle continues to grow.
